General features
Both the Krystal Pure K10 and the K15 whole house water filters use an innovative 17 stage filtration system which delivers clean water to every faucet in your home. Not only do they reduce the number of chemicals that you ingest by drinking tap water, but they also reduce the risks of absorbing chemicals through the skin during showers and baths, as well as the risk of inhaling chemicals produced by heated or agitated tap water. The systems come with Water Miser Rejuvenator valves which renew and refreshes all the filtration medias. Thus, without requiring any maintenance from your part, the filtration media of a Krystal Pure whole house filter could last up to 10 years.
These system also comes with free source select valves. This is something that we have not seen at other whole house filters, despite the fact that it is a very useful feature. Basically, such a valve allows you to choose whether you wish to use filtered water or regular municipal water. After all, what is the point of using the filter when you want to water your plants of wash your driveway? Both systems comes with a 15 year warranty for the tank, a 5 year warranty for the valve, and a 1 year limited warranty for parts and in-home labor. The warranty is pretty standard for whole house filters. However, some filters such as the Culligan whole house filters come with a lifetime tank warranty. Their tanks are so resistant that they can even be placed outdoors, being able to withstand hard weather conditions without experiencing rust and corrosion. Nevertheless, if you don’t plan on installing the system outdoors, a 15 year tank warranty will do just fine.
Technical specifications
As we already mentioned the Krystal Pure whole house water filter systems feature great valves that can support a flow rate of maximum 25 GPM. They each requires a 10 in.² installation space. This makes them very small and compact, compared to similar systems on the market. They adapt to up to 1.25 plumbing pipes and fixtures. Despite being quite small for whole house water filters, they each encompass a total of 1.5 Cu. Ft. of filtration media.
Krystal Pure Whole House Water Softeners
The Krystal pure water softeners are perhaps the most efficient softeners that you can find on the market nowadays. They are certified by the WQA and they come with numerous advantages. First of all, they are sodium free, meaning that they only use salt or a salt substitute (potassium). They feature a two tank design which reduces the problem of salt blocking. They also have a variable reserve which maximizes water and salt efficiency. The high flow engineering systems used by these water softeners meet 99% of the water usage needs of most large homes. Moreover, they are only 11″ wide, so they take very little floor space. There are 4 main softeners to choose from: KS64He, KS15He, KS10 and KS5.
KS64HE WS System
This system has the largest capacity, namely 64,000 grain. This makes this softener ideal for very large estates. It can support peak flow rates of 19.5 GPM3 and it fits 3/4″ – 1 1/4″ plumbing fixtures. This system uses an innovative DURAEX resin which is covered by a great warranty of up to 25x’s longer than most competitors. Just like the whole house systems, it also uses a free source select valve which allows you to choose whether you wish to use softened water or normal tap water. It has a great UltraFresh feature which rinses away stale water during the times when little water is used, thus ensuring fresh water at all times. It comes with a 25 year resin, body and tank replacement warranty and a one year labor warranty.
KS15HE WS System
This system is identical to the previously mentioned water softener, the only differences lying in its capacity and its warranty. This system has a 50,000 grain capacity, being ideal for big homes. It is covered by a 20 year limited warranty, a 15 year resin replacement warranty and a one year labor warranty.
KS10 WS System
This water softener has a 42,000 grain capacity. Unlike the two softeners mentioned above, this system lacks the UltraFresh feature which rinses away stale water. It is covered by a 15 year limited warranty, a 10 year resin replacement warranty and a one year labor warranty.
KS5 WS System
Recommended for smaller homes, this softener has a 30,000 grain capacity. It lacks the UltraFresh feature of the previous softeners, as well as the free source select valve. It can be great for apartments of for very small homes. It is covered by a 10 year limited warranty, a 5 year resin replacement warranty and a 1 year labor warranty.
